Overall PersonalityChloe is an independent and serious girl. She spends a lot of time thinking – just thinking – and does not like to be interrupted. She is relatively friendly, but social aspects of her life are not her main priority. She is not shy, exactly, it’s just that she doesn’t feel the need to talk about things that she feels aren’t important. If you bring up politics, the war in Brittan, or the ethical use of magic, then you can’t shut her up. She likes flying because it makes her feel free, but she can’t stand quidditch. To her, it’s not just a sport or a way of showing off, it’s a way to forget everything and just soar through the sky. She has been called a tomboy before, but it’s not entirely true. While not particularly girly, she also does not like to get dirty or sweaty.
Family MembersAndre LaRue – her grandfather on her father’s side.
Natalie LaRue – her grandmother on her mother’s side.
Elle est une cracmol. (she is a squib)
Henri La Rue – her father. Is terrified of magic
Alexandrine LaRue – her mother. Supportive and encouraging
Coralie LaRue – her twin sister. Thinks she’s a freak
HistoryMany years ago, a squib baby was born to a pair of prestigious Brittish purebloods. Unable to bear the shame, when the little girl did not receive her Hogwarts letter, the parents wiped her memory, shipped her off to an orphanage in France, and pretended she did not exist. Little Natalie grew up, unable to recall her past, married a French
moldue (muggle) called Andre LaRue, and had a son called Henri. Henri married Alexandrine Dubois, another
moldue. The couple had twin daughters: Coralie and Chloe.
Coralie is a perfectly normal girl of eleven years, but Chloe is not. All throughout her childhood, Chloe had been able to make strange things happen. Whether it was turning Coralie’s poodle’s fur a vivid orange color or somehow climbing up onto the roof of their house, she was always a peculiar child. Her father was fearful of these sporadic incidents, but her mother was not. She felt that if there was a reason, it would come out eventually, and until then, there was no cause for worry.
Her mother was right about one thing. On her eleventh birthday, the owl came. She was
une sorciere (a witch). Her father was furious and her sister somewhat jealous, although she’d never tell you that. Her father at first told her she couldn’t go, but her mother said she could. She told her husband that at least at this magic school, she would learn to control her talents, so he wouldn’t have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night with no left eyebrow again unless Chloe did it on purpose.
When she arrived at Beauxbatons, Chloe was sorted into Mauplume house. She is happy with her life there, but she does wish her father would accept her, and she wishes that Coralie were a witch as well, so that they could share the Beauxbatons experience and her sister wouldn’t have to be jealous.
