'Ello Beauxbatons!

With the release of the much anticipated sixth Harry Potter movie right around the corner, I figured it was time to have some contests to get you all pumped and involved! The movie is being released in theaters (most places) July 15th, which means it's time to get busy! However, these contests will remain open even after the release, just to give everyone a chance to participate - and there will be a warning a few days before they close (they'll probably remain open until the term is about to start). Regardless of whether you win a contest, you will receive housepoints for participating! Keep that in mind

And now (drum roll pleease!) - the contests!

• ARE YOU THE PRINCE OF ART?
  For those of you who are graphically or artistically inclined, we want you to make something that represents the movie. You can make a drawing, something in photoshop, an avatar - anything, just as long as it pertains to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in some way, shape, or form. Total creativity here, that's what we're looking for!
  
  
• ARE YOU THE PRINCE OF WRITING?
  If writing is more your cup of tea, then writing a poem might interest you. It can be accurate, but doesn't necessarily have to be if you'd prefer to make it more comical. This also doesn't have to rhyme, just have some sort of poem structure.
  
  
• A HALF-BAKED CAPTION?
  For this challenge you are to create an entertaining caption for one or more of the following pictures:

  You may write out what you perceive the characters to be thinking/saying, or you can draw thought/speech bubbles on the pictures using a paint program or something similar, etc.
  
  
• HALF-BLOOD WORD SEARCH!
  In the below link, we have a word search with words related to Harry Potter and the sixth book. The first person to successfully find all the words wins! The catch? We're not telling you what words are in the search, nor how many you're looking for. The words are forwards, backwards, diagonal, up and down, and horizontal. Good luck!

We also have the two following contests for after you've seen the movie:

• HALF-BLOOD QUOTE
  While you're watching the movie, think about the quote that's most memorable to you. Perhaps it was humorous, or it just stuck out in your mind, or maybe it was important, and said by an important character. Either way, tell us what it was! For this particular contest, you may only submit ONE quote.
  
  
• HALF-BLOOD MOVIE REVIEW
  That's right, we want YOU to give us your opinion on the movie. Was it excellent and thrilling all the way through, or did you find it strayed too much from the book. What were differences between the book and the movie? Would you recommend this movie to only a die-hard Harry Potter fan, or do you think it's something anyone would enjoy? Be creative!

Now, there are a few guidelines you must follow:
+ If you have any questions or comments regarding the contest, post them in this topic.
+ Submit all entries to Madame Leveque, with the title "Half-Blood Contest". Do not post them in this topic or forum.
+ Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated - if you are making a graphic or drawing, do it yourself. The same goes for every other type of entry. Also, if you use any type of internet site, you must give reference to that. (i.e. using a picture online to make a graphic - you must provide the link you got the original picture, etc.)
+ And finally... HAVE FUN! We're a new site with not very many members, so everyone's participation in the contest is appreciated, even if you feel a certain category isn't your strong-point. And, of course, you may enter as many of the above contests as you'd like, or just one if you'd prefer.
